Labor Day in Review

September Writing Challenge -Prompt #26:

Weekend

We had an extra long Labor Day weekend because my kids didn’t have school on Friday. We had our share of fun, responsibility, and drama. Here are some of the things we did:

-Canned nine quarts of peaches

Wish I’d had time to do more

-Decorated for Fall

This room was clean for about five minutes on Friday

-Made haunted houses

This is the best they would give me for a photo

-Had our first official concussion (Eva)

The concussed

-“Camped” at Grandma’s house

-Went to a BBQ

-Worked at the Jelly Roll concert (Scotty & Nicky)

-Made banana bread, potato salad, breadsticks, and soup

How we used zucchini that day
(My SIL and I send photos of our dinners to each other pretty regularly)

-Went on a youth overnighter (Nicky & Daisy)

-Watched Lost, Gilmore Girls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Jesus Revolution, and Only Murders in the Building

-Played at least 12 rounds of Wingspan and one round of Bohnanza

-Took lots of selfies with vegetables

Lots of harvesting over the weekend

-Shampooed throw up out of our stairs (see concussion above)

-Picked raspberries

Raspberries are my jam

-Went to church

-Broke fast with our ward after church

-Visited family

-Asked a girl to Homecoming (Nicky)

-Went to Lagoon in the pouring rain (The Concussed was only allowed on the mild rides)

Okay, so the swings weren’t ideal whilst being pelted by huge rain drops, but we still had a blast!

Now I’m ready for another exciting school week!
