Things I Love Right Now

My Christmas tree

I simplified my tree this year and left off most of the ribbon and some of the ornaments. It ended up only taking a few minutes to decorate, and I’m totally sold on how easy it was! And it was still really beautiful, in my opinion. Now I just need to write a letter to myself to remind me next year.

Yonanas

I’m a frozen fruit hoarder. Any time we have fruit that we won’t eat before it goes bad, I throw it in the freezer. Last week I bought a Yonanas machine. I’ve used it four times, and so far, I’m loving it. It’s a great way to use up our fruit and satisfy my sweet tooth.

My friends

Oh how I love those guys.

Shrinking

This is my favorite show right now, but it’s really naughty, so don’t watch it.

(Meanwhile, I’ve watched it twice).

These gift bags

I already wrote about these this week, but I love them enough to mention them again. I still need to get through Christmas morning for a full analysis, but so far I have nothing but praise for the simplicity these bags have afforded me this year.

Scrub Daddies

I got my first Scrub Daddy (actually, a Scrub Mommy) from my friend Julie for Christmas last year, and I fell in love. I used it until it became completely decrepit, and then I saw that Sam’s Club sells Scrub Daddies in bulk. Mommies? Daddies? Either way, I’m a happy lil scrubber these days.

Food apps

I’m not gonna lie, when I’m in line at the McDonald’s drive thru (or whatever food place I’m keeping in business), and I’ve ordered through the app, I feel like I’m better than everyone. I’m like, “Step aside, folks! McDonald’s has been waiting for me.”

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Arctic Circle where I had I get my debit card out and pay at the window like some Neanderthal, and I was so tripped up by it. I forgot that that’s even a thing! The worker pretty much had to coach me through it.

One thing I really like about using food apps is the rewards. Cafe Rio is the best at rewarding their customers - hands down. In fact, this very day they had 4x points, so we splurged and spent $50 on food but got $20 back in rewards (plus we paid with my $100 Black Friday gift card that I buy every year that got me an additional $40 in gift cards).

Walmart + (and other delivery conveniences)

Last month I signed up for Walmart + while it was half off for Black Friday. It has been a total game changer and life saver for me!

You guys. I place an order at 9:00 pm and have it delivered before I leave for work the next morning. It’s fantastic. It has helped eliminate so much stress this holiday season. I didn’t know I needed this in my life, but I’m in love!

Tomorrow (Christmas Eve) I’m trying out Sam’s Club’s delivery service (which I just found out I have with my membership). I’m totally willing to pay a tip for someone to bring my Christmas potluck ingredients to my porch!

Going to Music & the Spoken Word

(Learn more here)

Scotty and I went back in June, and then I wanted to take my kids before the year ends and our church time changes (Music & the Spoken word airs from 9:30-10:00 on Sunday). We went the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Then last week Nicky asked if we could go again, so we went on the 22nd. It’s such a great, uplifting activity with the kids. It’s short enough for their attention span, and they get to enjoy the behind the scenes of the broadcast. When they get bored, we just remind them that it’s going to be on YouTube, and that perks them right up.
